Michael Saylor Delivers Strong Bitcoin Message in German – What Was Discussed?
Michael Saylor, the co-founder and chairman of MicroStrategy, recently conveyed a Bitcoin-centric message to the cryptocurrency community. Saylor’s statement, delivered in German, has struck a chord with many: “Es ist kein Notfall, bis du kein Bitcoin mehr hast,” which translates to “It is not an emergency until you run out of Bitcoin.”
The timing of Saylor’s message in German coincides with the German government’s completion of its Bitcoin sales. In a press release dated July 16, the German government officially acknowledged the sale of 49,858 Bitcoins associated with the movie2k case. The sale of nearly 50,000 Bitcoins was characterized as an “emergency sale.”
This development likely prompted Saylor to address Germans specifically with his message emphasizing the importance of holding onto Bitcoin until it is truly needed.
In January, the German government received approximately 50,000 Bitcoin from a suspect who had voluntarily transferred the assets amidst allegations of commercial unauthorized use of copyrighted works and commercial money laundering. The crypto market has experienced volatility in recent weeks due to speculation surrounding BTC sales and ongoing payouts to creditors of the bankrupt Japanese crypto exchange Mt. Gox.
Despite initial concerns, the crypto market has shown resilience in response to fears stemming from German government Bitcoin sales. Bitcoin’s value briefly surged above $66,000 in the previous session, peaking at $66,139 after five consecutive days of gains. However, Bitcoin has since experienced a slight decline, dropping by 0.66% in the last 24 hours to trade at $64,864 at the time of writing.
