Bitwise Asset Management recently acquired Attestant Limited, an Ethereum staking provider with $3.7 billion in assets. This move expands Bitwise’s offerings to include non-custodial staking, ETPs, hedge fund solutions, private funds, and separately managed accounts.

Over the past five years, Attestant has built a strong reputation with institutional clients like family offices, high-net-worth individuals, funds, financial institutions, exchanges, custodians, and decentralized finance protocols. Their services are known for their technical excellence and robust reporting for tax, audit, and compliance purposes.

The Attestant team and products will be integrated into Bitwise’s new Onchain Solutions group. Bitwise OS will focus on enhancing existing Ethereum services, developing staking services for additional protocols, and contributing to the open-source community. Initially, staking services through Bitwise Onchain Solutions will require a minimum stake of $10 million.

The core Attestant team will be joining Bitwise, including co-founders Das, Jim McDonald, and Dr. Steve Berryman, PhD. With this acquisition, Bitwise now has over 90 employees in the US and Europe.

Galaxy Digital Partners played a key role as the exclusive financial advisor to Attestant during this acquisition.

Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating, “We want Bitwise to be the best possible partner to investors in the crypto space. This acquisition allows us to expand the ways we can help investors meet their objectives. The Attestant team and product are best-in-class, and we’re excited to build on this solution for clients.”

Bitwise Chief Technology Officer Hong Kim also praised Attestant, saying, “The Attestant team has built a truly best-of-breed staking solution for Ethereum, one that goes above and beyond technically to give clients high performance and peace of mind.”

Attestant CEO and co-founder Dr. Sreejith Das, PhD, highlighted the shared values between the two firms, stating, “As we got to know Bitwise, we found a firm with those same values and found ourselves excited by the opportunity to do even more for clients as part of a larger firm.”

Overall, the acquisition of Attestant Limited by Bitwise Asset Management represents a significant milestone in the crypto investment space, bringing together expertise in staking services and institutional-grade solutions.
