Bitcoin Core Maintainer Discusses Significance of Mempools for Censorship Resistance
Bitcoin Core Maintainer Gloria Zhao recently shared insight about the significance of Bitcoin’s mempool in terms of promoting censorship-resistant money. Gloria’s journey began in 2020 when she started contributing to Bitcoin Core before completing her studies at UC Berkeley later that year. Opting to forego a full-time position at Google, she committed to working on Bitcoin Core with funding from Brink, alongside contributions from the Human Rights Foundation and Spiral. By 2022, Gloria assumed the role of a Bitcoin Core maintainer, a pivotal position that granted her commit permissions to introduce new code to the Bitcoin Core repository.
