Ubisoft Unveils ‘Captain Laserhawk’ Game on Ethereum’s Layer-2 Solution Arbitrum
Ubisoft, the publisher behind popular games like Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance, is delving deeper into the world of crypto gaming by venturing into the Ethereum layer-2 scaling network, Arbitrum. The company recently revealed its upcoming project, Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E.
Set in the universe of the Netflix animated series “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix,” which draws inspiration from the game Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Ubisoft promises to incorporate characters from various franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Rayman, and Beyond Good & Evil into the game.
While details about the exact nature of Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. remain scarce, Ubisoft describes it as a “transmedia experience” and a “community-driven project” to be primarily built on Arbitrum. A teaser trailer, as per Decrypt, offers a cinematic glimpse rather than showcasing actual gameplay footage.
Players are expected to navigate challenges across different channels within and outside Ubisoft’s ecosystem, with the narrative progression driven by innovative Web3 governance. This approach hints at a more experimental, web-based gaming experience rather than a traditional immersive game world.
